imapproxy is an IMAP proxy created in order to reduce load to IMAP
servers by Webmail programs. Originally part of the Horde project
[www.horde.org], for their IMP webmail.

Once a connection arrives, imapproxy forwards it to the real IMAP
server and notes it. It will keep the connection alive for an specified
amount of time even if the client closes it, thus heavily reducing the
amount of reconnections to the server. It is designed to be run in the same
host the webmail program runs at.

Imapproxy can be downloaded from http://www.imapproxy.org
( new, official website )

Regards,
        J.L.
