Wmakerconf is abandoned upstream (in fact it has the same upstream as gtk-engines-gtkstep), so I've been toying with the idea of taking over upstream and porting it to GTK+ 2.x. Clearly the dependency against gtk-engines-gtkstep (it's actually just a Suggests) can be removed when that happens. As for gtk-engines-gtkstep: sometime in the future maybe I will also have the ambition to port the theme to GTK+ 2.x, but I agree it is time to get rid of the 1.2 version. If it's important to get gtk-engines-gtkstep out of the database quickly, please feel free to change the wmakerconf control file appropriately and make an NMU in the meantime. I would do it myself but going through my sponsor takes some time. regards, -- Kevin B.
