this is checking for package updates on pypi, right? I think mentioning
it explicitely in the description could be useful

(my first interpretation when reading this mail was that this was
checking for *debian* package updates)

Yes, this library was developed by one of the authors who worked on PRAW( Python Reddit API Wrapper) and I'm certain its for checking for an update on pypi. The description I provided in this ITP was brief and short but I'm gonna add more details and a better description for the  actual package description.
