Ahhh, cool.  I missed this.  Just keeping the bug in CC to get this
conversation recorded.

I became aware of this when I checked the package.

I slightly remember Gard is open for Debian Science team work anyway.
So my time is most probably not wasted if I create a repository there.
In the worst case Gard can take over without using it.
