The AQLprofile library provides foundational mechanisms for constructing AQL packets and managing profiling operations for AMD GPUs. It provides primatives for profiling methods such as performance counters (PMC) and SQ thread trace (SQTT). The libaqlprofile library has been available as a closed-source component for many years, but has recently been open-sourced. It is a necessary component for enabling performance profiling of programs targeting AMD GPU compute on Debian. It is dynamically loaded by the ROCm runtime (when available). This package is part of the AMD ROCm stack and will be maintained under the Debian ROCm Team.
