Dear Debian Developers, I would like to adopt the package e3, a small and lightweight terminal-based text editor, which has been orphaned (Bug #829180) for a significant amount of time. As someone who uses CLI editors daily and has a growing interest in both Debian packaging and low-level tools like e3, I find this package meaningful and relevant to my workflow. I'm motivated to explore the source deeply, maintain it responsibly, and gradually improve it where feasible (while respecting its minimalist design goals). This is my first time adopting a Debian package, and I am currently learning the packaging workflow. I’ve already cloned the package source from Salsa, successfully built it locally using debuild, and started studying its structure and behavior. I'm reaching out here (and on #debian-mentors) to welcome any guidance or mentorship during this process. I am committed to learning and maintaining this package long-term, and would appreciate any help to ensure I'm following the Debian best practices properly.
