I disagree with you. The first thing I must say is that php is describe as a scripting language in its documentation (http://www.php.net/manual/en/features.commandline.php). Secondly I use php for making many scripts that do NOT deal with web applications and it seems that I'm not the only one if you look at this url http://gtk.php.net/apps/. I know that many people can't imagine that php may do other things that just web pages but, imho, it's wrong.
