Our goal is to produce a cross platform stand alone mail application using the XUL user interface language. We are modeling ourselves after the Mozilla Firebird rewrite of the Mozilla browser. Our intended customer is someone who uses Mozilla Firebird (or another non mozilla.exe browser) as their primary browser and wants a mail client based on mozilla that "plays nice" with their browser. Currently, mozilla -mail is not a good option for these users because link clicks and attachments end up going to mozilla browser windows instead of the preferred browser. In addition, by focusing solely on stand alone mail, we believe we can make some dents in the overall footprint and performance of the mail client by removing components and chrome we don't need. On top of that, the UI becomes much cleaner as a stand alone application as opposed to being part of the mozilla suite. - -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux darth 2.4.21-rc1 #1 Sat Apr 26 12:54:20 EDT 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+4g49wO+u47cOQDsRAvDyAJ9msgqVD+VwmJoyW9YIxUSIwyg/9QCdFjo9 ClvjWmKRJf4Bl3Vg21XsOOg= =9YTT -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------------------------------- Received: (at 196504-done) by bugs.debian.org; 30 Aug 2003 01:07:56 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Aug 29 20:07:24 2003 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from mail1.dac.neu.edu [129.10.1.75] by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 19suCg-0007oM-00; Fri, 29 Aug 2003 20:06:59 -0500 Received: from darth.ns ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) by mail1.dac.neu.edu with ESMTP id VAA02129 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Fri, 29 Aug 2003 21:06:41 -0400 (EDT) Received: from darth.ns ([EMAIL PROTECTED] [127.0.0.1]) by darth.ns (8.12.9/8.12.9/Debian-5) with ESMTP id h7U16vYE032421 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Fri, 29 Aug 2003 21:06:57 -0400 Received: (from [EMAIL PROTECTED]) by darth.ns (8.12.9/8.12.9/Debian-5) id h7U16vq1032419 for [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Fri, 29 Aug 2003 21:06:57 -0400 Date: Fri, 29 Aug 2003 21:06:57 -0400 From: Ari Pollak <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline X-Operating-System: Linux darth 2.4.22 User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.4i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_20,USER_AGENT_MUTT version=2.53-bugs.debian.org_2003_8_27 X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.53-bugs.debian.org_2003_8_27 (1.174.2.15-2003-03-30-exp) I completely forgot I had this bug open.
