A static analysis tool for Java that catches common programming mistakes at compile-time. It hooks into the standard build, so all developers run it without thinking. It tells users about mistakes immediately after they’re made and produces suggested fixes, allowing tooling to be built on it. This package is needed for protobuf-java-util which is needed for bazel which is needed for tensorflow and other packages in high demand due to COVID-19 work my the scientific and medical communities. I recommend that this package be maintained in the Java team because, aside from the immediate dependency needs, it will be invaluable to Java developers.
