Sure, you can take it! I have tried for a long time getting ofbis to work with my crap video card, but failed getting it to work properly, so I could not test any of my ofbis packages. Let me know if you need any information (I remember working on the "needs to be root" issue but that was a long time ago). Sorry for the late answer, sometimes I can be such a lazybones... -- Sam.
