Defoma hasn't been updated since last May. The maintainer is 'missing in action' and does not respond to e-mail. I am about to file yet another bug report about a memory leak that occurs when defoma-font register-all operates on a large hintfile. (try the defoma-capable larabie ttf font packages at people.debian.org/~erich)
Font management is a serious barrier to the average newbie user. Debian isn't supposed to be only for developers. Defoma shows promise for managing the insane font schemes in X and ghostscript, but it doesn't work well as it is now. Please consider orphaning the package and seeking a new maintainer. --mark--
