Thanks everybody who replied to the ITP! (And I'm subscribed to debian-devel, but thanks Paul for the reminder). I closed the bug yesterday after Sandro Tosi pointed out the same thing: that pastebinit already supports fpaste.org. Even though I don't like the way pastebinit works, I decided to withdraw the ITP. Oh, it's worth mentioning that pastebinit's support for fpaste is broken. I reported a bug upstream about it.
