This package has a minimal set of dependencies in order to minimize the influence on systems where it is installed. . For corporate desktop/server deployments, where the APT proxy can be located at any arbitrary host, you should probably try the `squid-deb-proxy-client` package instead. This was born when I got tired of automating over and over to make my chroots, containers and VMs use my local APT proxy by creating /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/01proxy with the correct configuration bits. Instead of all that, I can now just install this simple package and it "Just Works". My idea is being open for extending the tool to correctly detect other reasonable scenarios, and specially proxies other than the one I use (apt-cacher-ng).
