Maybe "tool for efficient approximate mapping of long biosequences" or
"tool for efficient approximate mapping of long biosequences like DNA reads"

But I am not a native speaker and don't have strong preferences here.

I would stick to upstream name as long as possible. Once a while ago I
made the mistake of deviating from upstream just for cosmetic reasons
and it always sucked.
