Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Brian May <b...@debian.org> * Package name : python-mysqlclient Version : 1.3.4 Upstream Author : INADA Naoki * URL : https://github.com/PyMySQL/mysqlclient-python * License : GPL Programming Lang: Python Description : Python interface to MySQL
To maintained by the Debian Python Modules Team. This mysqlclient library is now the recommended choice for using MySQL with Django. https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/1.7/ref/databases/#mysql-db-api-drivers It is compatible with the current mysqldb package, except the current package does not have python3 support. It might be too late now for Jessie(?), but I think it is worth having in sid, regardless. BUT: At quick glance it looks like this package provides a MySQLdb python module. So, unless I am mistaken, it looks like it would conflict with python-mysqldb. Is this considered acceptable? Or would another solution be better, e.g. update the python-mysqldb package to use this fork? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
