They have released a Netscape plugin, but with a horrible license. However, in a few weeks they will apparently be releasing a new version of the plugin under the GPL, to accompany the core djvu library which they've already released under the GPL. Unless someone else wants to (PLEASE PLEASE!) I'll plan to package the djvu Netscape plugin. Hopefully it will use the GPLed djvu core library, which I'll put in a separate package in the usual fashion. I haven't really looked at the compressor code, but if it is licensed reasonably I'll package it as well. I do know that they have postscript->djvu converters as well as bitmap->djvu. A compression plugin for scanners like SANE would make a great deal of sense, as would something that makes djvu files work directly with the print system. --------------------------------------- Received: (at 94442-close) by bugs.debian.org; 26 Aug 2002 04:08:02 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Aug 25 23:08:02 2002 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from auric.debian.org [206.246.226.45] (mail) by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.12 1 (Debian)) id 17jBAY-0004HS-00; Sun, 25 Aug 2002 23:08:02 -0500 Received: from rdonald by auric.debian.org with local (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 17jB1j-0002SR-00; Sun, 25 Aug 2002 23:58:55 -0400 From: Barak Pearlmutter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: $Revision: 1.17 $ Subject: Bug#94442: fixed in djvulibre 3.5.7-1 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: Randall Donald <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Sun, 25 Aug 2002 23:58:55 -0400 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of djvulibre, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: djvulibre-bin_3.5.7-1_i386.deb to pool/main/d/djvulibre/djvulibre-bin_3.5.7-1_i386.deb djvulibre-plugin_3.5.7-1_i386.deb to pool/main/d/djvulibre/djvulibre-plugin_3.5.7-1_i386.deb djvulibre_3.5.7-1.diff.gz to pool/main/d/djvulibre/djvulibre_3.5.7-1.diff.gz djvulibre_3.5.7-1.dsc to pool/main/d/djvulibre/djvulibre_3.5.7-1.dsc djvulibre_3.5.7.orig.tar.gz to pool/main/d/djvulibre/djvulibre_3.5.7.orig.tar.gz libdjvulibre1-dev_3.5.7-1_i386.deb to pool/main/d/djvulibre/libdjvulibre1-dev_3.5.7-1_i386.deb libdjvulibre1_3.5.7-1_i386.deb to pool/main/d/djvulibre/libdjvulibre1_3.5.7-1_i386.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
