I wanted to use salt, but stumbled over this dependency issue. Unfortunately, the upstream bug has also seen no activity for half a year already, so I wonder how to make progress now. I mean, in the absence of a usable PyCrypto integration, and with M2Crypto gone, it very much looks like salt is becoming a no-go in Debian - right? Please enlighten me!
