Ehm, Daniel wrote "Due to time constraints", so why do you request
from him to do exactly what made him cause orphaning the package?
Besides, the tasks you listed are perfect for the future maintainer to
get a feeling for the package.
P.S.: A slightly more verbose subject is appreciated for mails written
to the BTS. Nobody knows all his bug report numbers by mind.
