Can you describe your experience a bit more in detail and why you think puppet modules shouldn't be available as debian packages? Just download the puppetforge modules - if you really want > to - and deploy them together with your custom puppet modules. You still can do this and you don't have to install the debian packages. The reasons why I wouldn't do this are: - I wan to have everthing at my system as package available. - I want to be sure that my used version of a module is still available after a couple of years (that's the case for debian packages). - I don't like embedded code copies so downloading the module and just deploy it with my modules seems to be wrong in my opinion - For automatic deployment I sometimes don't have a internet connection. I just have a connection to my local debian mirror. In this case, "Just download the puppetforge modules" just does not work. Cheers, Tom
