Just out of curiosity, I would like to ask a few questions regarding this ITP:
* How is this superior to notify-send "Today's Fortune" "$(fortune)" ? * Why a big C++ app for something that can be accomplished with a single line of shell? (Which is also easier to tweak, if I want more choice than fortune -s and fortune -s -a) Furthermore, there are a couple of shortcomings I see: * It does not respect XDG_HOME at all, the default config file is hardcoded to $HOME/.config/fortuner/fortuner.conf * The application is completely untranslatable (then again, fortune itself isn't translated either, but that has less messages of its own, too). But, in the end, my main issue is that it really is not much more than a ~20 line shell script, except it is in C++. So instead of packaging this, I would suggest writing a shell script instead, and putting that in fortune-mod (along with a Suggests: on libnotify-bin). -- |8] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
