This seems an aweful lot like the nodejs / node situation. Let's not let anyone take "melange" and use cream-melange and openstack-melange :) No one has any more "right" to the name :) Ubuntu has gdm3 --> gdm, I mean, it's not unheard of. Although, after it's upstream, I'm guessing it'll get removed and sunk.
