Package: wnpp Version: N/A; reported 2002-04-23 Severity: wishlist * Package name : libversit Version : 1.3 Upstream Author : None at the moment * License : Custom DFSG-free (s.b.) Description : vCard/vCalendar C interface
libversit is a C library to parse and create vCard and vCalendar files. It is currently used by Ximian Evolution as well as GNOME-PIM. If you plan to use libversit for new projects, you should consider to use libical, instead, as it is actively maintained and supports the later iCalendar standard as well. Rationale: Currently, libversit is statically linked to GNOME-PIM and Evolution, which is fine, since it's a small library that's not widely used and not actively maintained, either. But now I as the upstream maintainer of GNOME-PIM got the request to separate the sources of libversit from GNOME-PIM, since somebody wants to use it for his own project. Because of that I will start to link GNOME-PIM dynamically against it and so I need a separate package.
