Yes, I am, but the debian python policy is a bit tricky, and it's confusions in that that have held me up. I admit that I haven't spent more than a few hours trying to puzzle out what is the right way to be packaging it. Since it could work with any python version, but would do much better with whatever version I explicitly compile the C code with; this is not really covered by policy. I suppose that I could have a Depends on python and a Recommends: on the version I compile the included C code against. Hmm...
