I'll be here for serious bugs and security issues, but it really needs a new maintainer. Anyone who has followed the cvs package in the last couple of years knows that it has not been well-maintained, either before or after i adopted it. I noticed that the package was effectively unmaintained and broken in many ways. I took it over, planning to clean up its Debconf abuses and make it a good Debian citizen again. Unfortunately, shortly after taking it over my job changed drastically. I have not had the time to work on Debian stuff that i originally did, and the nature of my job leaves me wanting to stay away from the computer during my precious free time. So, eight months later, the cvs package is in no better shape. I have fixed one trivial problem with the Debconf abuse, but that's it. I have tried to fix the more serious bugs that have come across and tried to close all the bogus ones. I have maintained it in only the purest sense of the word; i have not made one real improvement in the package. Whoever steps forward, please contact me for a tar archive of my CVS repository. -- Eric Gillespie, Jr. <*> [EMAIL PROTECTED] "When everyone has to reinvent the wheel, many people invent square wheels." --------------------------------------- Received: (at 134548-close) by bugs.debian.org; 20 Feb 2002 20:10:05 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Feb 20 14:10:05 2002 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from auric.debian.org [206.246.226.45] (mail) by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.12 1 (Debian)) id 16dd41-0005vF-00; Wed, 20 Feb 2002 14:10:05 -0600 Received: from troup by auric.debian.org with local (Exim 3.12 1 (Debian)) id 16dcto-0007Dj-00; Wed, 20 Feb 2002 14:59:32 -0500 From: Tollef Fog Heen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: $Revision: 1.68 $ Subject: Bug#134548: fixed in cvs 1.11.1p1-6 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: James Troup <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Wed, 20 Feb 2002 14:59:32 -0500 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of cvs, which has been installed in the Debian FTP archive: cvs_1.11.1p1-6.diff.gz to pool/main/c/cvs/cvs_1.11.1p1-6.diff.gz cvs_1.11.1p1-6.dsc to pool/main/c/cvs/cvs_1.11.1p1-6.dsc cvs_1.11.1p1-6_i386.deb to pool/main/c/cvs/cvs_1.11.1p1-6_i386.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
