Thanks for pointing the presence of the package out to me. As for the usefulness, I think that it can't hurt much, but I'd rather not let down my guards and then be hit by a new wave of an old spamming technique. My personal impression is that spammers cycle through an ever-increasing arsenal of methods to slip their spam by user's filters.
