It's like running a "tail -f" on a bunch of files at once. It notices if a file is trunated and starts from the beginning. You can specify both filenames and directories on the command line. If you specify a directory, it watches all the files in that directory. It will notice when new files are created (and start watching them) or when old files are deleted (and stop watching them). It's available from http://www.unicom.com/sw/xtail/ . The distribution doesn't include copyright terms. I've mailed the author about it. -- Roderick Schertler [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------- Received: (at 111309-close) by bugs.debian.org; 17 Sep 2001 19:35:18 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Sep 17 14:35:18 2001 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from klecker.debian.org [198.186.203.20] (mail) by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.12 1 (Debian)) id 15j4Ao-0001uz-00; Mon, 17 Sep 2001 14:35:18 -0500 Received: from auric.debian.org [206.246.226.45] (mail) by klecker.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.12 1 (Debian)) id 15j4An-0000uN-00; Mon, 17 Sep 2001 12:35:18 -0700 Received: from troup by auric.debian.org with local (Exim 3.12 1 (Debian)) id 15j3lf-0001kq-00; Mon, 17 Sep 2001 15:09:19 -0400 From: Roderick Schertler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: $Revision: 1.59 $ Subject: Bug#111309: fixed in xtail 2.1-1 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: James Troup <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Mon, 17 Sep 2001 15:09:19 -0400 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of xtail, which has been installed in the Debian FTP archive: xtail_2.1-1.dsc to pool/main/x/xtail/xtail_2.1-1.dsc xtail_2.1.orig.tar.gz to pool/main/x/xtail/xtail_2.1.orig.tar.gz xtail_2.1-1.diff.gz to pool/main/x/xtail/xtail_2.1-1.diff.gz xtail_2.1-1_i386.deb to pool/main/x/xtail/xtail_2.1-1_i386.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
