Hi, I have been using xinetd for a few months and like it.
Unfortunately there are issues, like the fact that the version in testing/unstable is old and also marked as hackable by the xinetd folks. I am prepared to adopt the package if other people who have mentioned an ITA don't get around to it fairly soon. In the mean time, unless someone is working frantically on xinetd, I'll prepare an NMU to cover some of the more obvious problems in the package.
