Clara OCR is intended for large scale digitalization projects.
It features a powerful GUI and a web interface for cooperative digitalization
of books. Clara OCR development started in 1999 and we're approaching
production level.

Clara OCR's author is a personal friend of mine who asked me to package
it for debian a while ago. Now that the clara project became public I
want to make it part of the debian project. Packages of the new version
will be uploaded very sooni (as soon as lintian stop complaining about
them ;) ).
