I have started packaging a tool called rubyscript2exe which uses this compiler and so do not wish to see it die. I am prepared to take over the package rather than see it orphaned.
Be warned that I am not a compiler expert and so will rely on upstream for compiler specific problems. But I can watch over the state of the package and keep the Debian side in order.
