Hi,

anyone who wants to work on fsh is greatly welcome, perhaps also as
co-maintainer (and I'm also willing to sponsor people). The reason I
intend to give the package away is that I detected that ssh 3.9's
connection reusal is as good for my purpose. If noone picks this package
up at the time ssh 3.9 goes into unstable, I intend to ask for removal
of fsh.

fsh's description is:
The problem: logging in to a remote system with a cryptographic
solution such as lsh or ssh takes time, due to the computationally
expensive key exchanges that occur when the connection is established.
It is common to trigger a lot of remote logins while using remote CVS,
which makes it painfully slow compared to having the repository
 locally.
 .
The solution: reuse the secure tunnel once it has been established.
fsh is a drop-in rsh-compatible replacement for ssh that automatically
 reuses ssh tunnels.

Cheers,
Andi
