I'm concerned that by sending my longish message about why I am not running, I may have started a trend that I do not value. Typically the nomination messages are fairly short. I appreciate Jonathan's thoughtful message, but you don't need to write something that long at this stage, and shouldn't be held to his high standard. By Saturday, you need to know that you are going to run and let the project know that.
We can talk about whether I was wrong to post a long message before nominations started, but this list and this time are probably not the right place for that. --Sam
