With Java the problem is *not* of free versus non-free but instead is a problem of being able to redistribute it at all! I don't have a pointer to previous discussions handy. But browse the copyright statement yourself and you will see many things which jump right out at you as problems for redistribution. I believe most organizations which distribute Sun's Java do so under a separate license from Sun. Please lobby Sun to improve the license. Or support one of the alternatives which do allow distribution. Bob
