I've recently moved from a 2.4.25 kernel to 2.6.6. Now my ppp is not working. I checked the /dev directory and the problem appears to be related to the /dev/modem symbolic link. Under the 2.4.25 kernel, this points to /dev/ttySCHF0. The mystery is that /dev/ttySCHf0 is missing whenever I boot under 2.6.6. Though is "reappears" under the older kernel.
