hello people, I was trying SASL out but without success so far (using woody). I have read all the docs telling what to do: apt-get install postfix-tls apt-get install sasl2-bin libsasl2-modules-plain apt-get install libsasl2-digestmd5-plain In /etc/postfix/main.cf I put smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes smtpd_client_restrictions= permit_sasl_authenticated smtpd_recipient_restrictions=permit_mynetworks permit_sasl_authenticated check_relay_domains smtpd_sasl_security_options=noanonymous noplaintext smtpd_sasl_local_domain=aiace.natta.isa.it In /etc/postfix/sasl/smtpd.conf I put pwcheck_method: sasldb Then I created a password for user bianca # saslpasswd2 -c -u aiace.natta.isa.it bianca These are permissions on /etc/sasldb2 -rw-r----- 1 root root Postfix rejects the smtp client request and syslog in /var/log/mail.err reports: no SASL authentication mechanism What I have missed??
