Hi, not sure this is exactly what you want but it may help. if I want to know what version is in stable,etc... I do this: apt-get install nethack/stable and it will attempt to install the stable version of the package and will note what version it is. Similarly, if I do: apt-get install nethack/testing it will show which version is in testing and try to install it. This is of course based on the entries from your last apt-get update. -Kev
