Hi,Good idea . One can create "plug-in" s for Mozilla to run Synaptic from Mozilla.
When installing new apps I find myself searching on packages.debian.org and then look at changelogs descriptions and maybe go to the site where the development to read something about the app and then finally do an apt-install or I run synaptic.
I think it would be fantastic if the whole thing including installation would be completely web based. I.e you install the packages by clicking on a link on the webpage.
Advantages are:
* Just one simple interface taking care of the searching / browsing / selection and installing
* It is extremely user friendly
* Maintainer can very easily update information/documentation
It's a bit like running apt inside your browser.
Are people working on this?
Jaap
PS Don't get me wrong, Debian has the best package management system I've seen so far, but things can always be improved
Regards.
