You need to load the snd-intel8x0 module. I have been using a SiS7012 card with OSS first and then with ALSA, with both kernel 2.4.x series and now with 2.6.x. Actually, for the 2.6.x kernel, ALSA is the default. Run alsaconf and it will take care of it for you. hope it helps cheers Rodrigo P.S.
