I'd never considered that, but it makes sense. I filter my feed by group name and message size, not the presence of attachments, and didn't realize that some people did. Still, every newsgroup charter I've found that mentions attachments at all makes an explicit exception for PGP signatures. It was my understanding that those were universally accepted.
