I think you got the wrong one. expect is an altogether different animal. It may be needed by your weather proggie, but I doubt it is your weather proggie. expect is available from Debian in .deb format. The Woody/stable version is 5.32.2-4 Try "apt-get update ; apt-cache show expect" -- Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced.
