Once you know that, you can usually find the appropiate kernel modules for it. check in the /lib/modules/<kernelversion>/kernel/drivers/net/ directory and what is there. Many of the local superstores carry cheap cards like the dlink or netgear that will work. BUT here is a tip, if you have a card that requires a modules NOT in the installation method, get a card that is supported by the installation method and use that to get the basic install and them you can compile your kernel to add support for a new network card and then swap in the new card. IE. have a 'always works' card handy to yank out of a junk machine to do base installs. Although the new debian-installer supprts more cards AND now supports wifi IIRC. Also if you have the 'cd isos' (plain, vanailla, ide-scsi,etc) there are FAQS that say which one to use for an install based upon your network card and hard drives. -Kev
