No i don't think that's the cause. I've tried via "/etc/init.d/apache stop" and then checking with ps to see if any apache processes where still running and then starting apache up again via "/etc/init.d/apache start". I checked to see if maybe the pid was still there (/var/run/apache.pid) but after a stop, it's nicely removed. I'm really clueless about the reason. Very weird.
