Have you tried creating another user (assuming you've got root) and logging in as them? If it works for them then your configuration is fscked and you'll have to delete it. (just compare the files in the two home directories to see which to delete) If it doesn't work for them then start chanting ;) -- OoberMick Students nowadays, complaining they only get 5MBs of disk space! In my day we were lucky if we had one file, and that was /dev/null.
