Sorry I cannot quote, part of the "no X" problem. I don't have errors, because, as someone else pointed out, this problem leaves no errors in the log file. The problem is, I don't use an automatic manager, I always startx. So the fix mentioned in digest #660 won't work. Anyone who wants to take a look at the Xfree.log, try http://68.101.3.223:8080/ The reason for a reinstall is that I've read that Sid X is broken, which I can attest it is, but no information yet about how to fix. Thus, it's downgrade to Woody or not have X. That may not be what YOU know as facts, but I'm not you. Thus my question to see if anyone else had it happen. Curt-
