Apparently, the old usb-uhci module has been changed to uhci-hcd. uhci-usb exists but it is for bluetooth. Alsa's snd-usb-audio, in any event, will only work as before with uhci-hcd loaded.
This module is very problematic and will not shutdown correctly. From a console, a modprobe -r on it will hang up and have side-effects. On shutdown, one gets a couple of messages suchs as urb -128, usb-request-urb -32 and then it hangs. I have stopped it sometimes with control/alt/delete. The next stop or two of shutdown proceeds but it will hang again. Momentarily!! hitting the power switch will allow SOME cleanup and a shutdown (even if a reboot was being executed). So a couple of questions: 1. How to fix the errant module/USB system. The new usbfs is mounted but this changes nothing. 2, There is something now sitting on the power switch (unknown key pressed--the keyboard is usually disabled at this point) that prevents an immediate power off on a (suitably equipped/supplied MB--this is a good capability if is is for real!). If it can be configured, it could assure orderly dismounts and prevent file-system problems. Is it and how to configure it? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
