I'm aware of that. That's not what i was asking. I wanted to know if there where some cases where one had to use dselect to do things or if you could achieve everything with a different front end like aptitude. As Chris pointed out, it should be possible to work with aptitude and thus not have to deal with dselect if you wanted too. That's what i wanted to know. As for your remark, choice is good.
