Dude where have you been, there are tons of cool Audio apps
for GNU/Linux. You have
Ardour http://ardour.org/features.html
Adacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/about.php
sox http://sox.sourceforge.net/

for ardour to work you need 
jack http://jackit.sourceforge.net/

Remember this is not the windows would,
things are done diffrently ( better )
so you need to read as much on
linux audio as you can google.
