Hi,"lshw" is what you're looking for. It's in unstable; I'm not sure about stable and/or testing.
What command tells me most about my hardware?
I have tried these:
# discover (couldn't figure out how to get it to tell my anything)
# hw-detect (couldn't find this packaged)
# hwdetect (couldn't find this packaged either)
# lspci
# uname -a
I like those last two. They tell me a fair amount. However, I had a package installed once that even told me I had a Coppermine CPU but I cannot remember what the package was nor the command now.
I would like to be able to see as much as I can about my hardware from within the command line environment.
What command would you use to display details about your hardware - cpu, ram, drives, etc?
I know my BIOs tells me some of this. I am looking for a command line tool.
