question regarding installation 2.4 kernel

Hi there, I am trying to install a Debian Woody 2.4 kernel. In the middle of the installation, after it installs the base system and restarts, I get the following error. "kernel panic: no init found. Try passing init = option to kernel" I am running a DELL Dimension 2350, which is a Pentium 4, 2GHz, with 512 RAM. Can you please help me resolve the problem?   Best,   -Alex
