Hi Micha, rc6.d is used at shutdown/halt time. So it is not a big desaster. Anything that remains, will be killed --- unless the link to sendsigs is gone :-)
this is what I have for a starter: # cd /etc/rc6.d # ls -l | cut -c56- K01gdm -> ../init.d/gdm K01wdm -> ../init.d/wdm K10iptables -> /etc/init.d/iptables K11cron -> ../init.d/cron K14ppp -> ../init.d/ppp K19setserial -> ../init.d/setserial K20alsa -> ../init.d/alsa K20apache -> ../init.d/apache K20apmd -> ../init.d/apmd K20cupsys -> ../init.d/cupsys K20dhcp3-server -> ../init.d/dhcp3-server K20dictd -> ../init.d/dictd K20exim -> ../init.d/exim K20inetd -> ../init.d/inetd K20makedev -> ../init.d/makedev K20pdnsd -> ../init.d/pdnsd K20postfix -> ../init.d/postfix K20smartmontools -> ../init.d/smartmontools K20ssh -> ../init.d/ssh K20tcpspy -> ../init.d/tcpspy K20xfs -> ../init.d/xfs K20xfs-xtt -> ../init.d/xfs-xtt K25hwclock.sh -> ../init.d/hwclock.sh K30etc-setserial -> ../init.d/etc-setserial K75hdparm -> ../init.d/hdparm K79nfs-common -> ../init.d/nfs-common K80nfs-kernel-server -> ../init.d/nfs-kernel-server K89atd -> ../init.d/atd K89klogd -> ../init.d/klogd K90sysklogd -> ../init.d/sysklogd S10portmap -> ../init.d/portmap S19devfsd -> ../init.d/devfsd S20sendsigs -> ../init.d/sendsigs S30urandom -> ../init.d/urandom S31umountnfs.sh -> ../init.d/umountnfs.sh S35networking -> ../init.d/networking S40umountfs -> ../init.d/umountfs S50lvm -> ../init.d/lvm S50raid2 -> ../init.d/raid2 S90reboot -> ../init.d/reboot In principle, apt-get --reinstall install <package> will fix it, but how to find out all packages having startup links? The backup is a quicker solution here, unless, of course, no backup ... Good luck, Erich -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
