[This is a repost from the debian-sparc list. Sorry for any duplications[
I have three Sparstation 10s, on which I want to install Debian 3.0 for SPARC. Each machine has two SCSI hard drives, a Seagate ST 1480 and a Micropolis 2117. The Seagate is at target 1, unit 0, the Micropolis at target 3, unit 0. Both drives are found by the kernel per dmesg, as sda and sdb. However, I get a kernel message saying that sdb does not respond to spin up. Likewise, only sda shows up in fdisk; sdb does not. I've gone through the Debian installation manual and the Sun OpenBoot Reference materials in some detail, but find nothing to speak to this. I've started the machines with the cover off and the Micropolis sounds/feels like it's powered up. Also, the OpenBoot SCSI tests come back normal. Any help will be most appreciated. Thanks.
